The powerful analytical tools and reports included with Yardi products are what attracts prospective and existing Yardi users. Yardi’s impressive functionality, however, is often under-utilized. One of the most overlooked features may be its ability to automate report delivery using Report Scheduler.

Report Scheduler is able to schedule, generate and distribute reports as desired in a few easy steps. It does this by allowing users to:

  • Create a Report Packet which is a customized series of desired output reports that can be formatted and filtered for desired properties, properties lists and relevant periods.
  • Create a Distribution Member which is the target audience and where the Report Packet will be delivered. Distribution members can be linked to multiple properties and one or more Report Packets.
  • Create and schedule a task that generates and distributes the desired Report Packet(s) to the Distribution Member at a predetermined interval.

These features enable users to run robust and flexible reports conveniently delivered to their inbox. For example, if a Community Manager wants to look at the Aged Receivables report every Monday morning to assess delinquencies, Report Scheduler can be set up to automatically send that report to their inbox every week. It is capable of handling multiple instances in addition to generating reports in PDF or XLS file format, which makes it easier to use.

Reports can also be set up so that filters are saved to ensure that everyone is looking at the same set of data. This ensures that users aren’t making mistakes by incorrectly or inconsistently setting the filters when they manually run a report.

Although Report Scheduler is a powerful tool, if your team is not familiar with it, the setup and configuration of this tool can feel overwhelming. The Lynx Custom Reports team is experienced in setting up, configuring and enhancing the optimization of reporting processes using Report Scheduler and other tools, included with Yardi Spreadsheet Reporting (YSR).
