The team at Lynx really enjoyed the Sept. 17th CYUG meeting. Many thanks to those who participated and made this occasion such a worthwhile business experience. It was great meeting with you and exchanging ideas.

We were so lucky to have wonderful weather to complement the very open and sun filled venue. It was a one day “retreat” in the city to allow us to explore and share both challenges and suggestions with you. This was the first time we used St. James Cathedral Centre and we were delighted with the outcome. I found a write up by Christopher Hume describing this spectacular venue:

When it opened last year, this breath-taking glass pavilion quietly brought Toronto’s magnificent 19th-century cathedral into the 21st century. Designed by Peter Clewes, an architect best known for his condo towers, the exquisite addition occupies space (north) of the church. Though easy to miss, the three-storey modernist jewel is hard to forget. Its architectural behaviour is excellent, as are its civic manners. A marvel of simplicity and crystalline beauty, it offers a refreshing contemporary response to the cathedral. And although Clewes’ modernism and the Cathedral’s Gothic revivalism couldn’t be more at odds, the one complements the other effortlessly.
